| - WORST HAIR CUT I'VE HAD IN YEARS!!! !! I received a gift certificate to Eudocia Salon & Spa for the Holidays. I was desperately in need of a trim, especially since my boyfriend is returning from Afghanistan this Friday, I wanted to look extra special for him. I advised Rachel that I have very think and curly hair as I had arrived with pin straight hair and felt I should some how warn her of what she was getting in to. I specifically stated I was very nervous about the experience mainly because I have an amazing stylist who knows exactly how to handle my crazy hair. I must have repeated myself more than 5 time that I just wanted to freshen up the cut I already had by trimming the ends by less than an inch to get rid of the dry ends from my constant styling. I informed her again of how curly my hair is and that it's best that she wash and straighten my hair before even thinking about taking the scissors to it. She fought me on my request stating she knows what cult hair is all about and how to cut it wet then style it.
I watched Rachel like a hawk as she cut my hair, half inch by half inch, slowly and steadily. She spent so much time slowly, parting, combing and cutting while I shrank in my chair and winced at every snip. I finally had to tell her enough cutting of the length, freshen up the layers and please put the scissors away. I made mention how I've been growing my hair out for 3 years, which is why I only wanted a very specifically stated TRIM! Not a fucking NEW hairstyle!! Rachel seemed to concede but I felt her continue on. Finally the cut was over.
On to the blow and style. It became very obvious that Rachel doesn't have the first clue about styling curly hair into a straight look. She put so much gunk and product in my hair that it does not need. Trust me, I tackle my mane on a daily basis, using the technique that my usual stylist help foster. I specifically asked for a bouncy, volumeness look. In the end my hair was flat and greasy looking, very uneven and a whopping 2 1/2 inches shorter!! Rachel tried teasing my hair but unfortunately all the crap she put on it weighed it down. Some areas were still noticeably waivey. And when I pointed it out she gingerly stated, "well your hair is really curly and thats as straight as I could get it". I grit my teeth as I walked up to the front desk to check out, I paid the required $10 tip per the gift certificate and stormed out.
After taking a few days to calm down, I recently called back to advise what a terrible experience I had with Rachel and was basically politely waived off with a "would you like to come in and have her fix it for you?". Seriously!!! Are you out of your fucking mind!??!! She butchered my hair the first time why would I EVER let her near my hair again!???!. That's all they could offer as well as their condolences for my experience. Like I said WORST HAIR CUT IN YEARS!!! I now have to spend more $$$ going to my usual stylist to have it "fixed" which is going to require more cutting!!!!. I'm so pissed off! Fuck how aesthetically pleasing the salon is, the quality and purpose of a salon is the hairstylist. I don't care if I'm having my hair cut in the fucking White House itself, we go to the beauty salon to walk out looking and feeling beautiful, not angry and on the verge of tears!! I wouldn't recommend this salon to my worst enemy. Hair is such an important aspect of a women's look and presence and she fucked all that up for me!!!
Oh by the way-per Rachel-she lived in Dc and cut and styled the hair for the entire Bush family, including Jenna. I call utter and complete bullshit on that! For someone who has supposedly been doing hair for 14 years, she sure did hack my hair up like a fucking newbie!!
