| - I called Ellaments at 2pm on a Saturday to schedule an appointment for my hair, with nothing more than a vague, "I need a cut and I'd like to do some color!" In spite of the fact that I could only make it in at 5, an hour before they closed, Ella pencilled me in with George, one of her stylists, and said to come on in.
George. Was. Fantastic. I sat down, and we chatted a little about what direction I wanted to go in. I said I wanted a change, and he asked if highlights were on the books. I said I'd love to, and confessed I'd botched my last at home color job (two tone hair, anybody??) But he didn't scold me! He actually said the color I had was great, and went about doing that as a base and then after that he dove into doing, at my request, very fine, natural highlights that were a great blonde.
Now let me tell you. Blonde on Asians is tricky. I always like to say that we can't go blonde, we look like either gangsters or ho's.
I was proven wrong. I love it, and after I posted a pic to facebook I had everybody, including my mom, complimenting me. It was fantastic! And though I kept apologizing to George for keeping him late (an hour past closing!) he kept telling me it was fine, and it showed.
He was wonderful. I really am terrible about keeping with one stylist, but I think I just might have found him!
