  • When I started the car the other morning it was running ruff at an idle and not the usual get up and go while driving. I'm a long time back yard mechanic but don't have the computer to do diagnostic testing so based on the reviews here on yelp I took it LT&T. They said to give them awhile to check it out. I went and had breakfast and went back. They told me it was a fuel injector and would take a couple hrs. once they got the part. While waiting I started asking questions about why this might have happened so suddenly and was it possible the injector was just dirty and clogged. Rashid said no it needed to be replaced. I found that suspect knowing that fuel leave deposits that can foul things up but I took him at his word. About a 1/2 hr. later Rashid offered a ride home to wait there. While home I call the Chevy dealership to ask how much an injector cost and if a bad injector could just be clogged. The price was $103 and with the discount they offered it was $88 and that the injector might be just clogged. About 2 hrs. later Rashid called saying it was ready. When he showed me the bill with the break down of the service it showed $115 for labor, not unreasonable, and $155 for the injector. I asked him why such a large mark up on the injector and told him what I could get it for and that I know dealerships give discounts to repair shops, so again I asked why so much. He hummed and hodded and reluctantly knocked $55 off the bill. All the while I'm thinking to myself that he probably just clean the injector and didn't replace it, I have no proof of this though. While I can agree that Rashid is friendly, I can't say he's honest and fair. I also know not to trust the posts on yelp cause it seem that the posters are easily taken in by a friendly smile and have no knowledge of auto repair.
