  • This is the prime example of Instagram hype. I've seen a few pictures on social media about the Japanese blossom tree so we wanted to it. We couldn't find a menu online unfortunately. The decor is nice, very zen. However half of the seats were stools, therefore backless so it can be uncomfortable after a while. Good presentation with the plate setting. The host was nice enough to take our coats for us. And that's pretty much what was nice about the restaurant... The food was overpriced for what it was. We each took the udon soup. Literally udon noodles from packages in broth, minced carrots, shallots and tempura. I couldn't properly taste the dashi broth because the amount of scallions overpowered the taste. Then the tempura became mushy in the broth. Then we got a plate of the temakis. Good lord, the fish isn't even cut in slices. They were scraping is off the skin so it was in a mush. Nothing spectacular. But 14$ for 3 temaki rolls (one of them was cooked crab with mayo...). They presented your temakis in a sushi bar fashion: making it in front of you then putting in a plate in front of you so that you can eat it ASAP. The problem is this isn't a sushi bar, the fish isn't cut fresh so what's the point? My friends each got a cocktail, the one with plum wine. It was good but kinda weird to drink. It was a shot glass in a wooden box. The bartender overpoured the drink so that the drink overflowed the shot glass to finally be in the wooden box. Just a hype. All in all, never again. Food was mediocre. You're probably just there for the decor but I doubt it's worth paying 40$ for that. I rather walk two more blocks and go to another Asian restaurant. I actually went to the metro to grab a slice of pizza and that was more satisfying that anything I ate at Le Blossom.
