My family was invited here by other family members and I was pressured into going here with my daughter. First, let me start off by saying that the staff is very friendly but most are fresh out of high school and have very little to no knowledge about the animals in the facility. Second, the place smelled horrible, the water was dirty and the animals were poorly treated by both staff and patrons.
The turtle "habitat" that houses the freshwater turtles has 2 logs that are out of water for the turtles to rest on, one of them was not easily accessible and moved with the water, leaving five or more small turtles without a place to escape and rest. There were several times that turtles would be trying to keep their heads above water only for some young child to come and force it back underwater again. In the same body of water as the turtles were a handful of ducks all of which seemed to have some sort of itch. Every single duck was ruffling its feathers and picking at itself as if trying to alleviate some sort of irritation. There was no staff member standing there to guide, watch, or regulate how the aminals were treated.
In the same room as the turtles was a small stage with assorted birds. They were visibly agitated and the staff member there was continuing to let small children touch and hold them despite this.
These animals are not well treated.
