  • We just happened by this Civil War monument at 9:00 at night and the beauty, stature and upkeep was completely unexpected. There were so many details to take in, including the battles referenced in the rings of the tower, the stained glass windows and even the landscaping was lovely. The monument rivaled those I've seen in Germany and New Orleans. Due to the late hour, we were not able to go inside but if I came back during open hours I would make another stop. If you enjoy monuments, put this one on your list if you're in town.
