| - Warm Gyros on a rainy day in North Las Vegas...hell yeah! I don't know much about Mediterranean cuisine...but I enjoyed lunch at Baladie cafe immensely.
I arrived earlier than my love... restaurant was empty. The gentleman who was serving and cooking alone was kind and attentive.
We ordered a Gyros "Yee-rows": lamb & beef includes hummus, tomato, cucumber & lettus with spicy sauce added. We also ordered the Greek Sampler: Half Greek Salad (the hugest half I've ever gotten), Spanakopita, Moussaka, Gyros Meat, Tzatziki Sauce, Dolmas, Tomato, Feta Cheese, Kalamata Olives and Pita. Additionally, we ordered a side of hummus and two mint teas. I didn't enjoy mint tea but the hummus was so good we ordered a to go 1/2 Pint hummus for $3.99...and asked for it spicy.
Gyros was my favorite...I knew we were sharing the order, but I just kept biting into it. The Greek Sampler was good also, just not quite as good, and was also too much to explore...maybe that's why it's called "Sampler".
It's little long drive for me to get to the Baladie Cafe but I will remember to stop here for Gyros and very friendly service whenever I'm in the area.
