  • I want to start by saying i have thick, long, afro-curly hair. I was nervous that this salon would not have much experience with my hair type. My coworker convinced me to take a chance. i am glad i did. the stylist that did my hair was Haley, and she did an awesome job. She started by asking me questions about my normal hair practices and asking what i wanted. The shampoo and detangling process was comfortable and not painful (i say that because i usually hurt my own head when detangling). She gave me a quick relaxing neck massage during the shampoo that i wish i could recreate on myself. the blow drying and flat ironing i know is a task and she was resourceful and asked a fellow stylist to assist in the process. they used a good temperature as to not damage my natural curl pattern (which was one of my concerns). there was no pain and a very enjoyable experience. i was constantly asked if i needed anything to drink and if i was comfortable. i would also like to mention the teacher that was there at the time was also great. she used every moment she could as an opportunity to teach the girls something new. she seemed to be very knowledgeable about African american hair.
