I have usually liked Target because I could buy ELF makeup products here before they were available at Walmart. There are good buys in the beauty and electronic departments. However, I recently had a bad experience at this Target and will not be back.
I got to Target one morning at 8 am because I saw on the website that a Nintendo amiibo toy was available at this location. This was a rare toy that is only available at Target and sold for much more on EBay. It has been sold out online for a while. I got there early and waited in the cold and rain so I could be the first to get this toy as a Christmas gift. When I got the the electronic department I asked for help and was then redirected to a guy that worked specifically in the electronic area. He said the toy showed up as in stock, but I would have to wait two more hours for it to be unloaded from boxes that came in a recent shipment. I said thank you and left because I had to go to work and did not have time to wait. I called a friend to pick the Amiibo toy for me at 10 am. They were also told that the item was missing. When my friend asked to speak to a manager, two of these toys were suddenly found under the cash register where employees put items they want to hold. The manager told my friend that the toy had been available all along, since 8 am. This upsets me because the toy was not even put out to be sold to the public and I specifically asked for it. There is no reason for multiple copies of this toy to be saved, unless the employee was trying to make some money by flipping them on EBay. I will not be back to this Target. How can their employees be so greedy and hide toys from customers during the Christmas season? I will just take my business to any of the several WalMarts in the Gastonia area.
