Visited Aug 1 to have 2 single channel Viofo A119 Canadian edition dashcams installed and hard-wired. It took 2.5 hours for an experienced person to install the camera. Took 30 min longer than expected but hey it takes time to get the job done right. There are only 2 major car installer places in Toronto, Lockdown and CSI. I went to CSI and spoke with a gentlemen there R. and he said he had never heard of Viofo and then he misquoted the price for me. I decided not go with CSI and chose Lockdown instead. All the major camera installation shops promote Thinkware and Blackvue especially when they are a distributor = make profit when they sell these brands, the reality is that a $50 camera works just as well as a $400 camera.
Pros
Written estimated provided in advance.
Able to honour a pre-scheduled appointment time.
Email confirmation of appointment time and invoice.
Labour is guaranteed for life.
Took the time to answer questions by phone and in person.
Prompt with returning messages.
Cons
Didn't allow me to watch the installation, he stated "Customers are not allowed in the back". I don't exactly trust strangers working with my car, so I had to stand at the doorway to watch him as he worked.
Protip - Don't bother getting a 2-channel camera system, 2 dashcams is cheaper and better quality than the current 2 channel camera systems on the market.
