Just stopped in to find some work slacks and a few polos. I saw a patient worker named Beatrice re-folding the clothes that the JCPenney shoppers had left a mess. She never complained and always asked individuals if they needed assistance very calmly. I watched her do this for a while. After asking a particular lady if she needed help, the customer said, "Well, I don't think so. Everything in this place is crap." I was quietly shocked and wanted to see how Beatrice was going to react. She said, "Oh I'm so sorry. Is there anything I can help you look for?"
What?! I would have lost it! But Beatrice, the ever-seasoned customer service expert never let the comment shake her. I firmly believe when business owners contemplate the status of their business, they need to remember that although the product absolutely sells, it is the kindness and expert customer service that brings us back. I will be back, thanks to Beatrice.
