| - Met a friend Monday afternoon for lunch and drinks.
Service wasn't half-bad. My server was attentive for the most part and fairly prompt with our orders.
Food was great! The glass of Sauvignon Blanc I ordered was quite nice. And the Cubano sandwich (with a side of fries) that I ordered was one of the tastier sandwiches I've had in a while. All that shoulder pork, shaved ham, mustard and swiss cheese between flatbread - mmm!
(My friend had a steak pot pie, I believe, and a side of chicken noodle soup, and she had no complaints.)
I only had two small quibbles:
(1) The size - it's small. This is probably not a problem for the locals. But sometimes, cozy's not great when it's busy. At one point during our lunch, one of the kids at the booth directly behind us was being a bit rambunctious, making it difficult for me to hear my friend during our conversation.
(2) The bill. We're not sure, but we think when the waitress came back with the change, she may have stiffed us a couple of bucks. (Obviously, getting separate bills nixes this problem.)
Overall, it was a decent, low-key spot for lunch. But since I'm not really from the area, it'll be a long time before I return.
