I must say I was shocked to have a friend refer me to a yoga studio in Gilbert. I just never thought of Gilbert to have a well rounded yoga studio. This preconceived judgement was indefinitely incorrect!
This is a very laid back studio. It felt like a yoga Shala to me. I love that we take our shoes off outside, it shows the sacredness of the studio space itself, like a temple or something. I was immediately greeted by two people, I must have looked confused as to where to go since it was my first time there. Heather explained different options for class passes and was so present with me and informational about where bathrooms were and where to put my stuff. I felt safe instantly (I am still working through some PTSD patterns and am extremely sensitive). The class was very crowded and everyone was super friendly. The class itself was a complete sadhana practice. Very well rounded, slow moving flow with awareness of breath and bodily references as well as pranayam incorporations during holds.
What I loved most about this class is the safe container and space the instructor was able to create. She reassured us that this practice was our practice, she gave us the freedom to explore the needs of our body and encouraged us to do so. There was no music which I loved, but her soft and rooted voice seemed to fill the space
with harmonious tones. After the class, the lady next to me offered to put my blankets up and everyone made eye contact as I was leaving and said hello! Very friendly, very relaxed and so inviting to the essence of what yoga truly is all about. No masks here! So refreshing can't wait to take more classes.
I also suggest checking into workshops help here, looks like they have a lot of beneficial and practical teachings coming through that can assist on enhancing ones quality of life.
