Too hip for your own damn good! After a week in Napa sampling the amazing foods at Redd, Terra, Zuzu and Goose and the Gander I was rudely reminded of how full of themselves many of Madison's "chefs" and restaurants are...Ohhh no reservations- we're too cool for that...no you can't sit while you wait for the rest of your party...too cool for that! The charcuterie plate is the best part of the menu except for the fact there isn't enough bread or crostini...they charged $4 for more! That's 20% of the cost of the damn thing for Bread! Poached skate wing was cold and wet-not seasoned at all on a slushy chili infused pasty mash of something with raw red onions? WTF??? The chicken thigh and leg was raw...should have stuck with the apps- Brussel sprouts and beets on point- at least they bought my first drink- thimbleful of whiskey for $9 as a gesture of good will for the cold fish....to think we paid the same prices for top notch food at Chicarellos Bottega in Napa the night before reminds me why eating here is so unfulfilling!
