| - After knowing about, but never having lived near a Fogo de Chao, I was very excited for my first visit.
I visited on Thursday night with a group of about 50. Service was dismal. I had to flag down a waiter after sitting without a drink for over 10 minutes. It took that long to get the drink & the waiter stood in the middle of the room with no idea who to give it to. We asked repeatedly for hot rolls, only to get a basket of 5 cold rolls for our table of 10.
The meat was rarely brought back to the room. They would go to the large table first, ran out of meat, and never return. If we asked for rare, they would promise to return, never to come back. When the waiter came to ask what we wanted for dessert, I told him I had only had 3 pieces of meat and would like more. We finally got tired of waiting for food and, after most of our party of 50 had departed, we gave up & left too. In total I had a lamb chop, a small cut of filet, a tiny sausage, and 2 chicken wings. Not worth $50.
I would have had more than one glass of wine if the waiter had ever come around and asked. I also would have appreciated not having to ask repeatedly for everything, down to a glass of water (hot rolls, hot potatoes, more bananas since 4 pieces isn't enough for a table of 10). Everyone at the table was complaining to each other that they were still hungry.
I would not recommend this place for large groups. Small parties may work, but they are far too disorganized and unwilling to serve.
I would not ever expect to have left hungry, but I did.
