After taking our granddaughters, ages 2 and 3, to the Carnegie museum, we stopped for a well deserved lunch at the humbly-named Union Grill (not a pretentious 'Grille'). It was an excellent lunch. The girls each got the chicken tenders with fries. Like the adult menu items, the portions are huge and we should have ordered just one. We each had crab cake sandwiches, which were very good. The restaurant was full even though school is out at Pitt and CMU. It's tightly packed and loud, but service was prompt and professional. I highly recommend it for lunch. It looks like it would be a good place for drinks, with good beer and wine choices and low prices. I guess that makes sense since the restaurant is squeezed between two large college campuses. We deserved a glass of wine but abstained because we had to drive home with the girls. Next time!
