| - It's interesting how many reviews this location has about the rude customer service, because that's exactly why I'm giving this location 1 Star.
I typically love shopping at this Total Wine, but today I had the worst experience. My friend and I went to this Total Wine to purchase a wine key, and a glass as a gift. I am 26, and so is my friend. We looked for about an hour and finally when we found our items and go up to the front, the woman asks for our IDs. I had mine, but my friend had accidentally forgot hers in the car. They have a store policy that prevents hem from selling to minors which is COMPLETELY understandable, but the way the associate and the manager handled this situation was beyond rude and humiliating. My friend agreed to leave the store to go find her ID in the car, and I handed the associate my ID- not only did she take my items away from me, but she refused to sell to me saying in the most inappropriate and rude way, "you cannot purchase anything on this store if you are not 21, you can't even enter this store." Keep in mind- I wasn't even purchasing alcohol!
I gave her my ID (which obviously states I am 26) and she just yells to her manager "Don" was the name I heard. Don just looks over from the other isle and says "nope should have came into the store by yourself."
I tried informing the associate that my friend was grabbing her ID to prove that she was of age, and she rudely interrupts me and YELLS, "You cannot purchase anything because she was with you and she doesn't have her ID!"
A store policy is a store policy, and I understand that. But the way this associate and the manager handled that was inappropriate and unprofessional. For someone who has worked in customer service for 10 years- this location really needs some customer service help- or new management!
I still love Total Wine, but this location just lost another customer.
