I have a mixed review. Since the local Scottish bakery closed here in Pittsburgh, we have had to travel for our Scottish baked goods, being that I am not a good baker by any means.
We have for years attended the Scottish Highland Games when our daughters would complete in the dancing. Scottish food was always a must and first thing upon arriving was locate the vendor.
For years now the baked goods have been good. We have also travel to the store to secure a huge order for the Christmas holiday.
This years trip the Highland Games was no different, except the food was not as good. Dry and tasteless Meat Pies and Sausage Rolls. So disappointed. The cookies, the Empire Biscuits on the other hand were fluffy and delicious. I am used to raspberry jam in my Fern Cakes, not apricot but it was good, not great but good.
Mixed feeling some good some disappointing. The frozen ones we purchased , did taste better with Mince & Mash Potatoes the second day.
I think I will continue to support them, but will go to the Chop Shop on East Carson for my Meat Pies.
