  • I'm a huge fan of Salem's, esp. with the opening of this new space. The restaurant, as someone else said, looks like a cafeteria but it's bright, clean and simple. The staff are courteous and service is fast. The food is great. Pretty decent spread of offerings from shish kabobs to tandoori's to schwarma (gyro). Naans, lassi's, mango drinks, pop also on offer. I prefer to stick with the schwarma myself and it always delivers. As for the market side, this is one of the best butchers in Pittsburgh - lamb, beef, steaks, chicken, goat at reasonable prices. I'm not strict about halal/kosher but I buy from here because I know the quality is good.
