rev:text	This is a big system. In some cases truly professional care that cannot be beat, but as I mention later, sometimes not very good care at all. Last year I was diagnosed with cancer, and I could not have felt better or in more confident hands. The N Scottsdale Clinic was really awesome - professional, efficient, caring. Mayo Clinic really does have some great subspecialty care. I do wish however they had more primary care. Their options are not quite as good as I would have liked, but I understand that since they are known most for their subspecialty expertise - particularly their medical consultative services. 2014 Update: As I mention, I have indeed had some great experiences at Mayo, but unfortunately I recently had a very different experience. I recently went through another health problem and referral to the Dept of Colorectal Surgery at the Main Hospital (as opposed to the N Scottsdale Clinic where I had previously gotten great care). From beginning to end it was completely disorganized, unprofessional and unbelievably frustrating. I felt like I had complete confidence and respect for the surgeon, but the support staff were very disappointing - from the front clerks, to the scheduling and follow-up staff, to the anesthesia department. It was so uncomfortable and worrisome that I ended up not having the surgery there after all. To be honest, I'm not sure I could ever recommend Mayo to anyone, particularly if they needed to have surgery or anesthesia.
