  • I joined this gym after being at several others. DO NOT USE THIS GYM. The membership I received was free as part of a motor vehicle accident. It is just cheap. The layout sucks and the staff are rude and do not treat customers with respect. Two main things that irked me was 1. NO ONE wipes down machines. NOT EVEN STAFF or PERSONAL TRAINERS in the building. They use it and move on. Zero gym etiquette. 2. The layout is awful, it's congested. You have to wait for machines or treadmills and a workout that should last 30-45 minutes will take you close to an hour or more during peak hours. I approached the gym manager and was told "The club has opened 18 months ago and nothing is going to change." Essentially that LA fitness has their own ideas on where spray bottles and equipment should be. She was rude and spoke to me like I was a child. I explained that not even the trainers or staff wipe down the machines and she said that they do their best and thats how things were. I have played competitive sports at a high level and have been a member of several clubs prior to this including GOODLIFE (CANADA), PREMIER (CANADA AND US), TOTAL BODY FITNESS (US) and FITNESS FIRST (UK) and several smaller ones, never in my time working out have I ever been spoken to by a staff member, let alone the manager in this manner. Furthermore, never have I had a company flat out say - no thank you for your input. I spoke with Gloria from the Brampton South location and she had stated that the spray bottles and machines are as is and none will be added or removed - bottles are placed in high traffic areas from the change rooms and I would simply have to wait for equipment. Except here is the thing - NO ONE walks back toward the change room to retrieve a spray bottle... especially from free weights so far in the front. The wait for equipment is ridiculous and ruins a high intensity workout. I then wrote Mike Richert the regional manager for LA FITNESS and his stance was he would look into it. NOTHING HAS CHANGED. IT HAS BEEN MONTHS. Believe me, I understand it's a franchise, but understand your demographic - based on location, population density, cultural differences/influences in the area, maybe the members need to be taught proper gym etiquette.. Perhaps instil the kind of atmosphere that does that by keeping bottles more accessible. If people see more people doing it, they would be more obliged to do so themselves. But as I was told the gym was built 18 months ago and nothing is going to change. Experienced gym enthusiasts will agree that this is disgusting. Even their TRAINING STAFF at the facility do not clean off equipment that they USE DURING PEAK HOURS, while working out with a partner. They simply move onto the next machine and do not clean it off - all the while wearing the black golf shirts that reveal their affiliation to the club. That does not speak well to other members to clean it off, when staff will not. Do yourself a favour and get a goodlife membership WAY more locations and the clients there have some understanding of gym etiquette. I am now paying for one because that free membership is useless based on the treatment and cleanliness of the club. P.S. I also wouldn't go NEAR the swimming pool
