Dang, it's been a long time since I've been to the theater. In fact, it's been so long that I haven't been out to the movies since before we moved up here last October! But The Avengers was the first "summer movie" I couldn't pass up, so we went on out to Birkdale to catch the flick after a burger feast at Bad Daddys.
The Regal theater at Birkdale is definitely one of the better theaters I've been to. They have the stadium seating which is a must these days. The theater, restrooms and lobby were all clean and well-maintained, which is another huge factor to consider when choosing a theater. The price is what you would expect...$6 for a matinee and $10 for a night/weekend showtime. That's one of the reasons we don't go out to the movies anymore, but when the big guns come rolling out for the summer I can't help but suck it up and pay up. I don't do the concession stand so no comment on their quality and price of the snacks. Oh, and I've had my Regal card for years and love racking up points for free movie tickets, though they sure earn slowly.
I have to say that I am quite happy with this theater here. It's in Birkdale, so not only is it conveniently located (for me at least) but I love how close scrumptious dining options are if you want to grab a bite before or after a movie. It's a clean theater with comfortable seats. Sure the prices are up there, but that's the par these days. I'll definitely be back here in the coming months to catch all the new releases.
