| - I was skeptical about going to any discount optometrist. But, as most people I was lured in by the prospect of getting two pairs of glasses for $69.99. So one fateful day, I wandered into America's Best, had my eye exam, and was fitted for two pairs of glasses. About a week later I went in to receive my new prescription glasses, only to find that I saw significantly better without my new glasses. I was fairly certain that I was given a bad prescription upon leaving America's Best, after my examination by the "optometrist". Having worn glasses before, I knew that both my eyes required a prescription, albeit a fairly light one. This particular exam indicated that not only did my right eye not need a prescription at all, my left eye was barely registering as needing a prescription. I knew for a fact this was wrong. Yet, I carried through, ordered the glasses, and of course upon receiving them discovered that they were in fact not helping me see better at all. If you really need glasses, I would suggest biting the bullet, spending the money, and seeing an optometrist who actually knows what he/she is doing. Avoid these gimmicky 2 pair for $50 places, and go see a real doctor.
