| - What an extremely pleasant mattress shopping experience!
This was our first time buying a brand new mattress, and I had been interested in a memory foam mattress. After reading a few mattress forums (lol) and information from sleeplikethedead.com, I decided not to buy a Serta or a Temperpedic, and to give a lesser-known brand a shot. The Cozy Coyote offers a memory foam mattress called "Memory Rest" by a company called "Sleep Vantage". They offer the gel-type memory foam, and other features, to help prevent sleeping hot.
Joe made the experience a very easy one. There was no pressure; we just walked in, said hello, and asked him about the memory foam mattresses they offered. He showed us the various ones and, based on the features we were looking for (a memory foam mattress that slept cooler than most), he made a recommendation - and it was NOT the most expensive mattress in the store!
We laid on the mattress, which was on an adjustable base by a company called "Rize". The mattress itself was extremely comfortable and I didn't feel hot while laying there, which we did for about an hour. Joe answered all of our questions promptly and attentively, and quite pleasantly I might add. We inquired about financing, since we were about to move into a new condo at the time and our budget was thinning temporarily, and he explained how the financing worked, as well.
We pre-qualified for in-house financing that day and told Joe we would be back later.
For a few days, we shopped around. We tried out similar memory foam beds, and also memory foam / latex hybrids, and latex beds... and after shopping around at places like The Dump, we just decided to stick with Joe - our experience with Michelle at The Dump was very good, but the price from Cozy Coyote was really in line with our situation.
We went back to the Cozy Coyote and arranged for our delivery date, and Joe was there with a helper named Peter, which was also very pleasant! They delivered our mattress and box spring set up stairs in our new condo and were very professional in the process. They were on time and didn't bump it against any walls (tight turns from the staircase and another one from the hall into the bedroom). Needless to say, my girlfriend and I were very excited!
We've had a few days to sleep on the mattress and we both agree - we couldn't have done any better. We got a queen sized Memory Rest mattress and box spring for about $800 plus delivery ($20) - they gave us a special they had going on, and then we also had a coupon that took another $200 off. We put $200 down and financed the rest for 6 months, so our payments are about $110. After we pay off the mattress, we're going to get the Rize adjustable base... that zero-gravity position is delicious!
