I just purchased a new Kia Soul from this dealership. WHAT A BIG MISTAKE THIS WAS! I put my trust in in my salesperson, David Shick. When we were discussing the deal, he told me that we were within $500 of what my cars value was and what I owed on the loan of my current Soul. I was satisfied with this so we proceeded. I purchased the new vehicle the next day and thought I had a good deal from an honest dealership. After reviewing my paperwork in greater detail I discovered that in actuality, the difference they gave me between what was owed on my old car was and the new car was over $2000 below market value as a trade in. When I asked him about it he said I was giving you numbers before I talked to my manager. Not ONCE did he or anybody at the dealership explain to me what they were giving me for my trade in value! That's what I get for trusting a salesman! When I went into the finance office, the finance "salesman" immediately started trying to sell me additional items. I made myself very clear that I was absolutely NOT interested in anything else but he kept trying to push extras on me. Isn't it funny how they tell you that you cant get any more finance from the bank but they always seem to be able to add stuff to your loan if its to their benefit!. As we were going over the paperwork he showed me the summary of the finance deal on the loan. No where on that paper was the trade in value. Evidently that was on another piece of paper. I saw it and started to read it but he quickly stated that what he was showing me was the same thing just simplified and quickly shuffled the more detailed one back into the stack. I know I got taken for a ride and yes part was my fault but they also are at fault. I bought a car based on what I thought was valid information and in good faith and was misled on the trade in value. Now I'm stuck with a higher payment for the next 6 years and they make out like a bandit when they turn around and sell my old car for thousands and thousands more. All I can say is make sure they explain EVERY line item to you before you sign anything, no matter how hard they try to keep it from you. I will NEVER purchase another vehicle from Findlay and I highly recommend that if you are ever in the market to purchase a new vehicle I would think long and hard about going to Findlay and then go somewhere else. Don't be another victim of this dealership!
