| - If you don't live in the south, Caffe Crema is a bit of a trek. But if you're in the area, or want a complete change of scenery from your usual Calgary haunts, it's a lovely place to pop in for awhile.
Caffe Crema has a nice, spacious interior. There's a sofa over by the window to relax on, a decent amount of chairs and tables to sit yourself at, or three or four chairs at a bar with some plugins, creating a nice little laptop station if you need to get some work done.
When I was there, there was a younger guy working the place. When I say younger, I want to say he was in his late teens. But I think anybody under the age of about 22 is in their late teens these days. My perception of someone's age is going out the window. Either way, his music tastes were what controlled the sound system and reminded of what I used to listen to in those particular days of my youth. What do you even call it? Rock? Alternative? No idea.
At any rate, the latte I ordered was a-ok. I also grabbed a scone to nimble on. It wasn't quite a 4-star scone. It felt a little over-baked, but still good enough to be a 3.5-star scone.
As I sat there working away, there was a steady stream of foot traffic coming in and out of the cafe. There were also posters for different kinds of events happening at the coffee shop, like readings and conversation nights. Lovely! It looks like there is another room off to the side, which the website says you can book for your own use.
