| - Let me start by saying, I've lived at Dwell for 3 years, and my rent has increased by a couple hundred dollars since I first moved in (but not much in the complex been changed). When I was paying around $700 for my 496 sq ft apartment, I let a lot of things slide. But I'm up to $930 for the same apartment.
So, the positives:
I've never had a problem with infestation, and only once did the maintenance staff ever take longer than a few days to complete a project in my apartment. The front desk staff is rarely helpful, and I have had problems with the website a few times, but usually paying rent online is hassle-free.
Really, Dwell is just awful at communicating with their residents.
Fake grass was put in the dog park, which now just smells constantly of dog waste. Recently, half of the grass was pulled up, and it's been sitting like that for days. No idea what their plans are, because there's been no communication about upcoming projects for the complex.
They control your AC. So in the summer it's impossible to get cool, even with the AC on high, and especially on the second floor (I didn't sleep in my apartment for much of the summers because of this). In the winter, it's crazy hot inside the apartment, I assume because my downstairs neighbors have their heat on.
There's never any information on the people walking around the complex doing work. Sometimes I open my door and nearly trip on someone sitting right in front of it working on the railing.
I've had a lot of problems with smells in my apartment, which seemed clean when I moved in. It seems like they cover up things from previous tenants, and I expect when I move out (soon) I'll be held accountable.
I give it two stars because I have lived in worse apartments, but only barely.
