| - How this place has only 1 review is beyond me. When I came here, there were about 8 people at least and a few walk ins so shame on everyone for not giving a thumbs up to those that work hard for it.
I found this place on groupon and called to inquire about how they would handle making wedding bands. They were very friendly and invited me in for a consultation.
A few days later, I went in for my consultation. Parking was a little tricky but hey, it's toronto and I'm grateful they have free parking at all. The workshop was converted from an autoshop and the best way to describe it is "funky chic". It reminded me so much of my childhood when I watched Harriet the Spy where her and her friends went over to some womans' place and got to play in the spunkiest kaleidoscopic setting. There's just so much to look at in there!
They played really nice songs for everyone to hum to. I wasn't tuning in too much but I heard quite a bit of the Beatles. There's chips, water, juice, coffee & tea in case anyone has a hankering and a cute little anti-social yorkie (tucked away sleeping).
Since this was a wedding band workshop and my fiances birthday, we had a private workshop but worked in close enough proximity to the group workshop (sterling silver group) that we could chat with everyone if we wanted to. Samantha worked with the group but came by to help and hang out with us too but we worked mostly with Kristin (the owner). She's so laid back, funny and helpful. She made sure we worked on it as much as we could on our own but jumped in to help whenever we needed her. She definitely knows her job inside and out. I asked her so many questions and she was patient and informative enough to leave me feeling just a wee bit smarter than I came in. For our break, she recommended a Portuguese place and a fresh sandwich joint within walking distance. We went to the sandwich shop and when we came back, she pulled out some chairs so we could enjoy the beautiful weather outside with our food. She never once rushed us and by the end of our day, we ended with some beautiful shiny white gold rings and some new friendly faces I'll be happy to not avoid if I see on the streets. We didn't leave with the rings because she arranged to have our rings appraised for us and gave me advice for the ring insurance. NONE of this information would have profited her but she chose to spend extra time to share it anyway to help me out. AMAZING WORK, GIRLS! This is such an amazing place to bring someone on date night or if you too, want to make your wedding bands. It's such a steal!
