I received a gift certificate to Sante as a shower gift and I was SO looking forward to some spa time before my wedding. I made the trip down to Calgary and booked myself in for a relaxing massage, pedicure and facial. We started with the relaxing massage which was nice. I asked her to do extra work on my neck and she spent a few extra minutes trying to work out a knot I had had for a couple of days. I then went on to the facial which was also nice, although I had mentioned I didn't want a ton of extractions so I was surprised when walked out and looked in a mirror and saw a TON of red dots on my face (much more than just the few extractions I had asked for) and was sad when I realized they used a little metal tool instead of their hands as I find those ones take longer to heal. The pedicure was also nice and she did a great job on my toes. I was a little put off though when one of the employees a couple chairs down mentioned to her client that "the service at Stillwater isn't very good and they just have nice amenities". I found this unfortunate as Stillwater Spa recommended Sante to me, and the comment was loud enough that the whole room heard it!
The main reason I can't give this place more stars is because of their lack of amenities. Their lounge was just off the main reception area and didn't feel overly private. Also, the only food that was available was Mike and Ike candies, chocolate covered raisin, and almonds. I found it ironic that a place that was promoting wellness was offering less than healthy selections for snacks (outside of the almonds). The staff was very nice and didn't mind me falling asleep on them at various times through out the day.
