| - We made a stopover visit in Pittsburgh on our way to Huntingdon, PA to stay in a cabin with the intent to visit the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh (HIGHLY recommend!)
Booked that morning on Hotels.com--I couldn't believe the price at $88. I booked instantly.
Check-in was easy, but because I booked on Hotels.com I was unable to pay cash. Not a biggie.
The staff was very nice at check-in, check-out, staff we saw in the hallways, and the attendants at the breakfast bar.
The room was plenty big for two kids and two adults. There was a drape/curtain in place to act as a closet which was kind of weird, but not a big deal, especially for just an overnight stay.
The breakfast bar had a ton of options and everything tasted great. On the cold, snowy night we were there, it was really nice to have a fireplace in the community area.
So what went wrong?
There was hair EVERYWHERE.
We checked-in and had pumped the kids up about an indoor pool, so we tossed their suits on and went down within 5 minutes of arriving. Ordered pizza to be on it's way while we swam. Multiple hairs on the pool deck. Yuck, but let's just move on.
We dry off and eat our pizza at the community tables and head upstairs. Get the kids ready for bed and put them down to bed. My wife hops in the bathroom to get a shower (kids are asleep mind you), and finds hair in the shower. Yuck, wash it down the drain, but you've got that ick feeling the whole time.
We wake up the next morning, get ready, and head to the breakfast bar: hair on the plastic spoons. I couldn't believe it. The first two are gross but you move on in some respect. The hair on the spoons is just unacceptable.
Besides the hair, this place would probably be a 4.
