OMG - I wish I had read Yelp before I set up my first (and now ONLY) appointment with these clowns.
Was told I'd have to go for an MRI for my shoulder - but it would take 5 days to get the approval from my insurance? Really?? FIVE days??? Good thing I wasn't in a great deal of pain!
I called my insurance company myself 12 hours after being in TOCAs office, and they were like 'sure, fine, we'll approve it over the phone as soon as they call'. Four days later (today), TOCA calls me, wanting to schedule my follow-up visit wit the doc (Harmsen - ehh, I could take him or leave him) for after my MRI??? I'm like - 'what MRI -- this is the first I'm (finally) hearing from you'. I was told that they had faxed in the order to an Imaging place. One that I made clear to the nurse I wouldn't go to. The receptionist says - 'oh *they* were supposed to call you to set it up'. Really? They were? Not TOCA, even telling me WHERE they had called this order into?
I told her I think I'll go look for another doctor if they're this screwed up in their office.
I also had issues (had to call three times) trying to access their patient 'portal'. The lady in the records office - I was directed there to get the online/password issue addressed/fixed - had NOT A CLUE what she was doing. Each time her response was 'I don't know what's wrong - wait thirty minutes and try it again'. This went on for a good 6 hours of my day.
Thank God I only spent $40 bucks out of pocket for this adventure!
