| - I have never done a hike like this! The hike starts off with just an uphill climb, then you progress to steps, then rocks and a handrail, and then just straight climbing up rocks the rest of the way to the top! It's challenging, beautiful, and rewarding to climb. Going up took me about 1 hr. It was physically challenging on the way up, and near the top, my legs felt pretty shaky. Bring water. Preferably a camelbak. However, coming down took a bit longer because I was very unsure of my footing. I saw a (very!) pregnant woman going up as well as many kids going up with parents. That does not mean this is easy, but it'll make you think - "well, if they can do it, so can I!" for a little extra motivation.
The only negative: There are bees when you reach the top! They can make your time at the top very unpleasant and unrelaxing! At least there aren't any bees (that I saw) on the way up, or I would not even do this hike! Be careful of bees! T got stung. They just sit on rocks and on the ground, so you have to watch where you're going and what you're touching!
Also, we came right after some rain had just passed through, so parking wasn't too bad. It rained really hard, but I think the ground soaked up the water pretty well. You probably don't have to wait too long after it rains to go.
