  • After a show at the mesa arts center my wife and a friend and I tried this plce out. Great location across the street of the center. A saturday night, We got seated at 8:45 and waited..waited. After several attempts to make eye contact with who I thought was the server, I was finally successful. At 9 sharp he came over to make first contact and take our order. He informed us that the kitchen was closed and he would have to check to see if he can still put in an order. We gave him our order just in case-all appetizers:, escargot, Pan seared Calamari, Mussels, Caprese. He came back and said they could take appetizer orders. Ok , this is where it gets interesting- I will take it one at a time. First they delivered a bowl of bread with basil butter. 3 of us, 2 crossants. OK we share. Then something in the bread was freezer burnt. You know that taste when something overstayed its welcome in a cardboard box in the freezer. Then , the Calamari and Caprese arrived , and fast. I think maybe 5 minutes passed from when we put in the order so they were obviuosly trying to get out of there. The Calamari was luke warm, and the sauce that came with it was basically mayo and thousand island. Caprese was tomatoes, mozzarella, some endives -salad mix-drizzled with balsamic vineger and oil. All the ingrediants used was unimpressive, they cut alot of corners and it showed. This was less than a mediocre dish. The escargot was the best, the sauce and mushrooms were tasty. But then they ruined it with dried bread. The bread was not toasted or fresh, it was like french bread that was cut up left out for an hour or so. Now the mussels, I saved the best for last. First it was delivered in a vegetable broth and very plain. As we consumed, we all tasted some unfresh mussels. We joked that we would know how unfresh it was in a couple hours. The server asked how everything was, we told him "somewhat OK but there is something wrong with the mussels". uncaringly he took all our plates and gave us the check. Mussels were still on. we paid and left. Well the jokes on USs, my wife has been huring all night with food poisening and I have been on the toilet 4 times now. SO WARNING!-- If you go here for the ambience that's fine-BUT This place lacks and quality in their dishes and it shows with every bite. The lack of quality is a sign that shortcuts are taken in all areas. When it comes to dishes like mussels, this means you are taking chances-
