I never lived here, fyi, the application process told me all the terrible reviews are true.
I liked the location, my classes are in the building right behind this place so it sounded like a dream come true. I paid $35 for the application and went threw some unnecessarily drawn out process to prove my income. I took a few unpaid days off the month before applying so they said I didn't make enough (by $45) and would basically have to work another full month and send them those paystubs, but I was able to get them to approve it anyway.
The real problem was when they sent me the rental agreement and raised the rent $50, along with a water/sewer/trash mandatory monthly fee of $39. Rent went up to almost $800 a month for a studio in a crappy neighborhood suddenly.
I told the person I was emailing with that I applied for the apartment they posted on their website (only a few days earlier) as $699 a month and she said the prices on THEIR OWN website "doesn't reflect the actual price." Also, the apartment I was applying for wouldn't be open for two months and the rent could be even higher by then. She even apologized and said that's how her management company says to "enforce the prices".
I have all the emails and screenshots and I'm going to see if I can report them for it, but this can be a heads up to anyone that reads it.
