  • I was working a promotions event iin market square and my friend/coworker mentioned that she knew one of the owners of Red Star Kombucha. So we sought him out at the Buch Bar. He wasn't there but the brewer, Naomi, was. I had never had Red Star Kombucha before even though I had heard of it from being at events in the Strip District. I decided to order a glass of the cider buch and it was as good as it gets in terms of Kombucha! And it was alcoholic! I happened to be in the market for a SCOBY and it turns out they sell these too! So not only did I have some wonderful boozy kombucha, I took home my own SCOBY so I'm able to go on and make my own kombucha! This does not mean I'll stop visiting the Buch bar! IT felt like a haven away from Pittsburgh after a long day of working an outdoors promotion at the Arts Festival! If you haven't been there check them out and enjoy the fermented, healthful goodness that is boozy buch!
