| - $8.99 for a dozen assorted. No sample offered, unlike Elk Grove Village's location, but they offered a larger selection. We went on a weekday afternoon. I've been on the hunt for a Krispy Kreme cruller ever since spying it on their website so I was happy to sight this KK establishment on our drive back down to Illinois.
cruller - 2 stars. It was labeled as a cruller in the display, but taste & texture-wise, no way was it a cruller :( It was pretty much an old-fashioned, but smaller. The only reason why I didn't assign it a 1 star rating is that it wasn't dry to the point of crumbliness. But it wasn't fresh either. I've had fresh KK cake donuts, and these crullers were not the freshest. Even after zapping them in the microwave, they weren't great. Seemed like something I could get at a gas station.
maple - 4.5 stars. 5 stars if it had been piping hot & fresh. My favorite of the bunch. EGV needs to add this to their selection! :D
raspberry jelly - 2 stars. I'm not a big jelly fan, so it has to be amazing to impress me.
Kreme-filled white frosting - 3 stars. The inside white cream was fluffy and not overly sweet. When microwaved, it turned into a white cesspool. Either way, it was okay, but I'd rather have the maple or original glazed.
Kreme-filled chocolate frosting - 3.5 stars. KK does a great job with their chocolate frosting. Perfect consistency and a clear chocolate flavor. Not 4 stars because I wouldn't get this one again since the Kreme filling does nothing for me.
cinnamon - 3 stars. Cute swirly form. It wasn't overly cinnamon-flavored, which was good, but I'd rather have a cinnamon bun or a different donut.
sugar - I can't rate this because it was devoured before I could even nibble on it haha.
