| - Wow! That is all I can say about this place.
I have been searching for a new Barber shop the past month & a half, after having been turned away by my former Barber of the past 4 years, because he had 3 or 4 people ahead of me, but yet they were nowhere to be seen. Anyways...I'm not going to even go into that right now. Nevertheless, not a moment too soon because I was looking pretty shagadelic.
Thanks to good ol' Yelp, I stumbled onto Nelson's. This place is definitely a breath of fresh air. From the looks of things, the barber's here are the realness too! The prices are really reasonable. Considering I have been paying $15 to $17 over the past 4 years, not including tip & with a Military discount.
When I walked in, I was referred to an older gentleman who was in line for the next customer I'm guessing. So, the 1st thing out of my mouth was..."how good are you at fades?" To which he replied with a chuckle, "I don't do those types of haircuts & I have no desire to" Fair enough sir. So, he pointed out 2 female barber's & said that they were very good. And, they also happened to be sisters & trained by the man himself, Nelson.
One was gainfully employed giving the guy in her chair what? That's right, a funky fresh fade! I liked what I saw immediately. The other female had just finished a cut, so she was available. So, before she sat me down in her chair, I posed the same question to her...& she replied with just the answer I was hoping for. She asked me how I wanted it & I told her. About 20 minutes later, which is like an hour less than what it took my old barber, I had the best haircut & fade since I've lived here, and probably in my life, for that matter!
I will definitely be coming back every 2 weeks & recommending this fine establishment to anyone who will listen ;)
