  • I have learned one thing from my experience with Living Spaces: Be suspect of a company whose local store/showroom you cannot reach directly by phone. At Living Spaces, all calls go through a central switchboard, which is located God knows where, but nowhere near your local store. Hmmm. Question for you Living Spaces: Why do you not allow your customers to contact their local store directly? Regardless, that is not my main beef with Living Spaces today. Rather, I have a complaint about their "Survey." They (allegedly) offer a survey via email link to repeat customers which will allow them to take an online survey to receive a coupon for $25 off a future purchase. The survey must be completed within 90 days. I made a rather large purchase in November, but never received the "invitation" to take the survey. In January, I wanted to make another purchase, so I contacted Living Spaces to send me the email link to take the survey since I was still within the 90-day timeframe. I was assured that I would receive the email link to the survey within 48 hours. That was a week ago. Guess what? No email. Contacted them again the day before yesterday and was told by the customer service rep that he could not help me because that was the domain of their "internet department," and they are "extremely backed up right now." "Is there a supervisor who might be able to help me?" I ask. "I can note your request and someone will get back with you, but it will be at least 48 hours." Really? It'll take 48 hours to speak with a supervisor? Forget that. He then offered to put in another request for the survey link to be sent to me marked "urgent." It's now two days later and, you guessed it, no email. I suspect by the time I receive the link for the survey (if I ever do), it will be past the 90 day window since my last purchase and I will not receive the coupon. I know $25 is really not a lot of money when you're talking about large furniture purchases, but $25 is $25, and at this point it is the principle of the matter! My warning to all prospective customers out there is this: If Living Spaces cannot respond to a simple request like sending out an email link, I shudder to think of the trouble I may encounter should I have a problem with their furniture, delivery , etc. Yikes! Maybe I should heed this red flag and look to make my purchase elsewhere.
