I was the meeting planner for an event for around 30 persons and was wowwed by the (I must say very pushy) sales lady. But the amenities offered along with the guest room rate made the deal! I was appreciative of the standard in-room amenities like sleeping mask, ear plugs and sound machine. Now I know why they are offered though, that dang LOUD music outside.
I do not think anyone was disappointed though - I know I wasn't except for a few minor things.
I agree with others that there is a musty smell in the room and as one Yelper pointed out, that smell is coming from the TV cabinet. I am thinking that the fridge underneath that puts out heat is causing the problem. Other than that, I did not notice any smells in the room or halls that others have mentioned. The bed was very comfortable!
I agree also that the room service menu - and even the restaurant menu - SUCKS!! I was hard-pressed to find anything that I even liked and that was with VERY FEW choices! And for whatever reason, the room service personal could never get it that I wanted in-room service. Every day, my food was left outside my door which I never would have known it was there had I not looked.
The meeting, IT, and banquet staff were very good and attentive. I would definitely use the spot again if they were located elsewhere.....the VERY LOUD outdoor concerts almost nightly provided a boom-boom-booming late into the evening. Pissed me off really but what can you do besides write City Hall (which I intend to do because it has to drive off people that want to stay in-town). Luckily I checked out on a Thursday because at least during the week the music stopped at 10. Weekends - I shudder to think how long it would go.
Good central location though, easy walk to restaurants etc..
