I'm sure my friend Jennifer C is with me on this when I say that Jimmy is absolutely worthy of 5 *s.
Toronto is overrun with the ubiquitous Starbucks, Second Cup (the Canadian version of Starbucks), or the wretched and dreaded Timothy's. However, there are pockets of indie cafes that rebel against corporate blandness.
Jimmy's is tucked away on Portland, just off the hustle and bustle of King in the Entertainment District. I love the different sitting areas, and best of all the small outdoor patio has outlets, so I'm able to work outside comfortably under the shade of a large patio umbrella.
Latte is really good and strong; they have a pretty good croissant too. The exterior crust could be a little crispier, but the interior was perfectly flaky and tender. Sweet service, free wifi, lots of seats and not overcrowded with people.
