| - With a few renovations, this Clarion Hotel could be an excellent place to stay. For now, it's perfectly fine for a short business or personal trip. The hotel staff will do their best to accommodate requests, and during our stay, Elijah at the front desk went over and above the call of duty. (We had a problem with our hotel room door lock, and he was able to get us into an upgraded room at no additional charge in less than fifteen minutes. Talk about service!)
My favorite things about this hotel are the free Wi-Fi and the proximity to Hyde Park Grill. Hyde Park has an excellent bar area and serves up delicious food and strong drinks.
Although the Clarion offers a free hot breakfast, there are not many items for the gluten-intolerant. I was limited to the scrambled eggs, yogurt, and either an orange or an apple. However, the scrambled eggs were quite awful - they tasted like they came from a box, not a chicken - and the only apples were red delicious, which are not my favorite. However, the oranges were tasty, the coffee was good and strong, and my husband enjoyed the waffles.
The parking lot is ample, and the location is convenient to I-271 on the east side of Cleveland. Plus, for the price, you won't find a comparable hotel in the area. All the others I looked into were at least $25-50 more expensive.
