This is one of the better cafes in downtown Toronto.
First and foremost their coffee and hot chocolate are tasty. The coffee does not have the burnt taste of many other competitors and everyone knows that finding a hot chocolate that tastes like chocolate is as difficult as finding a banker with morals. Seriously, Second Cup gets it right.
The space is large and for once one is not cramped. As a matter of fact they have space for another ten tables, but they have chosen not to take advantage of it for some reason. The tables are set on the Adelaide side, but the glass next to University is left alone. perhaps the employees like an unobstructed view (laughing here)?
The Wi-Fi is problem-free and the premises is clean.
When I was there three employees were on duty and they were all helpful. The younger lady and the older lady were tag teaming for the coffee while the gentleman was taking care of everything else.
