In Aug. I went in for an annual eye exam and contact lens fitting. I paid for the fitting around $50 + copay for the eye exam. The eye exams itself was cover through insurance. I wanted to try to wear contacts again and decided to get it all done at once instead of coming back a different time.
A few months later I called to see if I was able to try on different types of contact lenses because the ones that were given to me were uncomfortable and made my eyes feel very dry. The receptionist that answered sounds irritated and said that Usually you had 30 days to come back from the appointment to try in different lens. She told me she would have to ask the doctor and give me a call back. She took my number and information. It's been about 3 days and I still have not heard back.
Today I had to call back myself since it was obvious they were not going to call me.
I was told I had to come back within 30 days for a refitting. Since it's passed 30 days I could schedule another appointment and pay a $35 re servicing fee. I mainly wear glasses I didn't even try my contacts out until a few weeks ago. Had I known that I had 30 days I would have waited for the contact lens fitting.
I was planning on purchasing contact lenses through them after I had found the ones that I liked. This is no longer the case. I'd rather go to a different doctor and pay full price for another contact lens fitting then pay the $35 re servicing fee and having to deal with the receptionists.
I feel like my business isn't appreciated. My doctor Lisa Davis was great! That's the only good thing I have to say. Receptionists on the other hand is a different story. I shouldn't have to feel like I'm bothering them for calling and asking a question. If the approach to the situation was different, I would not be writing this. Please find better and more understanding receptionists. Maybe your business levels would increase. People's insurance are mainly paying for these services anyway. It's like shooing away free money..... besides you are not the only eye doctors in Las Vegas.
