  • After also getting in-home estimates for a new AC from two other companies (Ace and Alaska), Penguin was considerably cheaper. Their package included exactly what the other companies did, but for at least $1000 less for a 3-ton unit. They also carried the particular brand I wanted, Carrier, which some companies don't have. I asked for a new grill cover for the indoor filter and they threw that in for free. I was very pleased with the friendliness and efficiency of all the Penguin employees I met with and talked with on the phone. I would note that when Penguin sends someone for the initial estimate, he is not an AC expert, but is simply there to assess costs. In contrast, the other two companies I mentioned sent employees who gave me good advice on how to improve the overall cooling efficiency of my home during the estimate visit. I did get great expert advice once Penguin sent the actual installers however. I would definitely recommend Penguin.
