He worked on a 100 yer old grandfather clock for us over a number of years. Charged a good bit of money. It stopped working about three years ago and he took the workings of the clock to his shop and kept it for about 3 months and then told us there was no way to repair or replace the needed parts. Suggested that we replace with a battery powered workings that he could install. We chose not to do that, but he still charged us a good bit of money for the work he had done.
In the past month, we found another clock repair shop and asked them for help with clock. They manufactured a replacement part and had the clock repaired 3 days. It is working great.
