  • Peoria Charter unquestionably bests their competition in every way. As a frequent traveler who has endured too many nightmare scenarios, I know that transportation is fraught with all kinds of hand-wringing perils. Amid all of this anxiety and uncertainty, Peoria Charter is like a reliable friend, somehow making the world of travel a less terrible place. Things they do well: Company Culture: All of the language used on their tickets, website, etc. is helpful and professional, whereas other companies seem to have a zero-tolerance policy that involves a lifetime ban if you inconvenience them in any way with your existence and/or desire to use their services. Professional Staff: I've never encountered a disgruntled troll while interacting with their employees. When I call their hotline with a concern, I have no trouble having my questions addressed by a real person who is courteous and knowledgeable. Drivers are safe, familiar with routes, and appear mentally stable (this, unfortunately, has not been the case with other bus companies). Flat Fees: When I'm not able to plan a trip far in advance, I always feel fortunate that Peoria Charter won't extort me for some ludicrous amount of money. Luckily, they also have a policy for accepting passengers who aren't able to make advanced reservations but still need a ride (I haven't had the experience of using this part of the service, but it's nice to know it's there). Airport Service: I frequently book their trips to Chicago airports (and as far as I know, they're currently the only bus that serves Midway Airport). I've never had issues arriving on time or being picked up from the airport. As long as you don't have time constraints (the trip is a little under 3 hours), this is by far the cheapest, most reliable way of getting to the Chicago airports (a definite consideration in the winter, when flights to/from Champaign are frequently delayed/cancelled due to weather conditions). The core purpose of any transportation company is to get you from Point A to Point B, and while each bus company in central Illinois manages this (to some extent), Peoria Charter earns those extra shiny red Yelp stars because it also minimizes the amount of stress associated with the trip.
