I bought a Groupon. I had no idea what to expect, other than reading fantastic reviews about the food. I met a friend on a Monday which happens to be Two Dolla Make Ya Holla Taco Night (that's my name, not theirs..) [Fine print: Groupon is good for any food except the food on special.]
We sat at the bar, since it was steamier than Hell's basement outside. Maybe next time we'll choose the huge patio area...
Took a hot minute to decide what our starting beverages would be.. I wasn't enamored by the beer choices plus I wasn't sure if I even wanted a pint. A dude came around and kept asking what we wanted sure, but he seemed a bit pushy about making me a drink. Turns out he was the owner, Mario. I mean - I am at the bar so I'm definitely not going to sit here without drinking, but no need to be pushy about whether or not I had decided. The place wasn't busy I'll take my time if I so please... He went down some talk about whiskey, which I won't bore you with...
Everything we decided to order off the tapas menu was fantastic! Bravo to whomever created these delicacies! Avocado Egg Rolls: Holy **blank**; Milenesas: Ahh Mahh Gahhd; 'fried cheese on a skillet with bread crisps thingy': Very Good.
Bar service lacked a bit, even though the bar area wasn't very busy. I know the patio was busy - but that shouldn't affect my service.
