Just called hoping they would be open for Thanksgiving and heard that they aren't opening until December. Darn, I really wanted to take some citrus up to Taos for Thanksgiving. We are really looking forward to and will be standing at the door on opening day hoping they have lots of Oro Blanco grapefruit. Yes, the oranges are out of this world big, sweet and just might be life changing, but the Oro Blanco's are even better, The fruit has a similar taste to the scent of its flowers, lacks the bitterness associated with grapefruits and is rather sweet, even when the outer peel is still green. The Oro Blanco was patented by the University of California in 1981 and was developed in a nine-year project that began in 1958. It took a series of test plantings before a successful variation was refined.
