  • I lived at Colter Park for a year and I have to say it wasn't an amazing experience but it wasn't the worst either. I try to keep it as real as possible because I like to rely on most of my decision making on Yelp reviews. Pros: -Very convenient location. Walking distance from Fry's grocery store, LA fitness, Subway, the light rail, and Charlie's bar (if you're into that lol) -I personally liked the set up of the apartments. I lived in the one bedroom. Spacious bedroom, good size walk in closet and the bathroom was a decent size as well. All the units were renovated besides the appliances. - The cost was decent (a little high for the studios) but for the location its pretty centrally located to a lot so I can see why there is a spike compared to other complexes -Never had any security issues during my stay which was a plus -Surrounding neighborhood was pretty safe as well, I mean I wouldn't be walking out at night by myself but I didn't feel like I had to be looking over my shoulder every second -although there was no assigned parking, there was a lot of covered parking that was almost always open near my unit, good for the summer! Cons -Maintenance is HORRIBLE. This is my reasoning for leaving 3-stars. Long story short it took a month for them to come fix my fridge that was going out and the main reason why they finally showed up (on top of the many reminder calls) was because my fridge finally completely went out. Even then it still took them 2 days to replace that and all my food had spoiled and had to be thrown out. -They were previously owned by another management company before Living Well Homes took over. I was close to moving out when the switch was happening and the office was chaos and very disorganized. There was no record of me paying my pet deposit so they were not able to give my refund due to no proof even though I was paying a pet fee every month. Also upon move out expect to receive your refund check about month to two months after move out inspection the company who issues the refund checks are located in Canada. Overall is it a place I recommend? I would say "why not".. but it may not be for anyone. I personally had an okay to average experience and didn't mind my stay while living here.
