| - This steakhouse is located in the middle of Four Queens: close to the craps tables & down the stairs. No restrooms inside so you have to use the casino restrooms (exit the restaurant, make a right, & follow the wall to the end). I called 2 weeks prior (no availability on OpenTable) & managed to grab the last reservation (for a party of 6) for the night we needed at 9PM, but was told to check-in 30min prior the reservation to see if we were able to get seated earlier. Upon check-in, we were immediately seated. Walking-in, not even half the restaurant was full so we thought it strange that there were no other reservations available when we tried to book. The decor is lush but in an old school steakhouse kind of way: Great for dates & celebrations. Note: Dress is at least business casual. Ladies are presented w/ a rose at the host stand, which I thought was a nice touch. After seating, the waiter explained that Hugo's is Old Vegas-style & went on to say sides and desserts were included with your entree.

Hugo's is known for their martinis and their dirty martinis have a very strong olive taste (you get about 1.5 drinks). Beware: their Old Fashion is strong as well.
An assortment of complimentary breads & crackers are brought out w/ beautiful rose-shaped butter while you wait for your food. The escargots came out 1st which were topped by a delicious pastry puff. The escargots were buttery and tender but I prefer mine to have more garlic. The build-your-own salad that is served table-side was then brought out. Everyone LOVED their salad. My BF said he'd be ok with just the salad and no prime rib! Note: if you're usually a vinaigrette dressing person and want to go for the honey walnut vinaigrette, it is more honey than vinaigrette so it is on the sweet side (which isn't my preference). Then came out intermezzo: a pomegranate sorbet on the tiniest cone. Super cute palate cleanser!
Next came, the main event. I ordered the Tournedos. What surprised me the most about my dish was that the foie gras wasn't pate spooned on top of the filet mignon. I could see the whole duck liver on top of my filet! The foie gras wasn't as iron-tasting and was fairly light (but fatty). I ordered my filets to be cooked to a medium rare but they were still a bit chewy (so thought they were just OK). BF liked his prime rib but was so full from the bread and salad, he couldn't finish (had to take 2/3 of his plate home). Everyone else at the table also said they enjoyed their dishes.
For dessert, they bring out a platter of dipped fruit: dark chocolate covered strawberries, dark chocolate dried apricots, & white chocolate dried white figs. There's also a small bowl of whipped cream for dipping. Afterwards, they bring a platter of the desserts that they offer if you wanted additional sweets but we were way too full. They also ask if you would like coffee or any other after-dinner drinks. One person did ask for an affogato, but they said they don't serve it (even tho they offer espresso and ice cream.. oh well).
Service was great. During the whole meal, we had at least 2 waiters tending to us. When we raised our drinks, I added "Happy Early Birthday!" to my BF. At the end of the meal (and before they brought out the desserts), they brought out a bread-pudding with a candle in it. I guess someone took notice because I didn't mention it to any of the waiters. Talk about paying attention! In addition, even though they used the same jokes at each table (I could overhear since the restaurant is fairly quiet even with the casino upstairs), the waiter delivered them each time like it was their first.
Fairly good steaks in an unexpected part of downtown.
Note: Party of 6 is considered a large party and will automatically include a 18% gratuity.
